PSR Labs Ltd · For owners of UK accountancy practices with £500,000+ of fees, planning to sell, merge or step back within five years

Make your practice worth more before a buyer looks at it.

Buyers of accountancy practices, including private-equity-backed consolidators, price a firm on its sustainable profit and recurring fees, and discount it for lock-up, client concentration and dependence on the owner. The Exit Value Programme reviews your practice the way a buyer would, ranks every improvement by its value in pounds, then implements them with you over six months. If the measured annual profit improvement is below £40,000, the shortfall is refunded, up to the fees you have paid.

Version 7 · Last updated 28 September 2026 · This page is a summary, not an offer capable of acceptance. Each place is governed by a signed Engagement Letter, which uses the Definitions on this page.

Why now

From 6 April 2027, Making Tax Digital for Income Tax applies to sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £30,000, down from £50,000. More of your clients will need quarterly updates, and engagement letters and fees agreed before Making Tax Digital may not cover that work. A buyer will ask how your fees and engagement letters cover it. The Programme starts after the 31 January deadline, and the first two months are spent on pricing and scope, so the changes are in place, and visible in your numbers, before April.

How it works

  1. Review (February). From exports of your fee, time, client, debtor and work-in-progress records, PSR Labs Ltd measures your Baseline Profit and every lever a buyer examines: sustainable profit, recurring share, price and profit per client and service line, client concentration, lock-up, capacity, staff dependence and owner dependence. You receive the Plan: every improvement found, each with its estimated annual value in pounds, and a sale-readiness list of what a buyer’s due diligence is likely to question.
  2. Implementation (March to July). A 60-minute working session every two weeks, eleven in total. PSR Labs Ltd drafts the material for each change with you: fee and scope letters, engagement letter wording, monthly direct debit terms, client-tail decisions, the documented processes and management information a buyer asks for and, where it pays, software changes. You decide which changes to make.
  3. Measurement (by 30 July). PSR Labs Ltd calculates the Profit Improvement from your records and sends you the Result in writing.

The guarantee

If the Profit Improvement is below £40,000, PSR Labs Ltd refunds the difference, up to the fees you have paid.

For example: an improvement of £28,000 means a refund of £12,000. An improvement of £20,000 or less means a refund of every fee paid. The refund is paid within 14 calendar days after you ask for it in writing, which you can do within 30 calendar days after receiving the Result.

The guarantee applies if all three of these are true:

  1. You or another Individual in your practice attended at least 9 of the 11 working sessions.
  2. You provided each set of records PSR Labs Ltd asked for within 10 Working Days of the request.
  3. Within 20 Working Days of receiving the Plan, you told PSR Labs Ltd in writing which Plan actions you will make and which you will not.

For each Plan action you decide not to make, its estimated annual value in the Plan counts towards the Profit Improvement, so the guarantee covers the changes you choose to make, not the ones you decline.

Who it is for

Meets the criteria

  • A UK accountancy practice with fees of at least £500,000 in its last complete financial year
  • An owner who expects to sell, merge or step back within five years
  • Fee, time and client records held in practice or accounting software that can export them
  • An owner who can attend a 60-minute session every two weeks from February to July 2027

Does not meet the criteria

  • Heads of terms for a sale or merger are already signed
  • The practice plans to change its main practice software before 30 July 2027
  • No record of time spent per client is kept, and none can be kept from February 2027

Fit is confirmed on a 20-minute call before any payment is taken.

Founding terms

How many places, and until when?
Five. The presale opens to the waitlist at 09:00 on 19 October 2026 and closes at 23:59 on 7 November 2026, or earlier if all five places are taken. Founding terms are not offered again after the presale closes.
What does it cost?
£20,000 in one payment on signing, or three payments of £6,800 (£20,400 in total): on signing, 30 calendar days after signing and 60 calendar days after signing. Payment is by card or bank transfer through Stripe. PSR Labs Ltd is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged. Places taken after the presale closes cost £33,000.
How do I take a place?
Join the waitlist. On 19 October each person on the waitlist, in the order they joined, receives an email with a link to book the 20-minute fit call. If the practice meets the criteria, you receive the Engagement Letter to sign and then a payment link. A place is taken when the Engagement Letter is signed and the first payment is received.
What do founding practices get beyond the price?
The founding fee is fixed for any follow-on work agreed before 31 December 2027. Founding practices are asked, but not required, to give feedback on the method and to allow an anonymised summary of their Result to be published.
Can I change my mind?
Yes. If you cancel in writing before 2 February 2027, every payment is refunded within 14 calendar days. After that date, you may end the Programme by written notice, and payments due after the date of notice are cancelled; payments already made are not refunded except under the guarantee.

Who you would be working with

In this section, "I" means Parambir Randhawa, speaking as director of PSR Labs Ltd. I carry out the work on behalf of PSR Labs Ltd. I am not personally a party to any Engagement Letter.

As of 28 September 2026, PSR Labs Ltd has not completed a Programme or prepared a practice for sale. The first review is for a practice owned by a member of my family. There are no case studies yet, which is why the founding fee is lower than the full fee and why the guarantee exists. My background is in mathematics and independent research; more about me. What can be checked today, and how every result will be published, is on the evidence page.
